The Importance of Legal Compliance in Detergent Labelling

Incorrect or incomplete detergent labelling in Türkiye can lead to product recalls, import delays, or regulatory fines enforced by the Turkish Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change.

Therefore, detergent labels must comply with all relevant legal requirements. According to the Turkish Regulation on Detergents, a detergent label must include:

    • The name and trade name of the product,
    • The name, trade name, or trademark, full address, and telephone number of the party responsible for placing the product on the market,
    • The address, telephone number, and, if available, the email address where the content data sheet mentioned in Article 12(3) can be obtained,
    • The information specified in paragraph two must also appear on all documents accompanying detergents transported in bulk,
    • Detergent packaging must display the composition in accordance with the specifications listed in Part A of Annex 7 to the Regulation, as well as usage instructions and any special warnings if applicable,
    • Packaging of consumer laundry detergents and consumer automatic dishwasher detergents must also contain the information listed in Part B of Annex 7,
    • All information mentioned above must appear on the label in Turkish.
